BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies, building prosperity and supporting a sustainable future for people recovering from conflict, natural disasters and the impact of climate change. In the WFP Sudan Country Office (CO), the Partnerships and Reporting Unit leads donor relations and reporting efforts. The unit uses a wide range of communication products to raise awareness of the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe and famine in Sudan, with the goal of mobilizing critical funding. The reporting team draws on the CO’s reports, analysis, and infographics to demonstrate how WFP’s assistance is saving lives amid the world’s largest hunger crisis, tailoring messaging for internal and external stakeholders, including donors, the general public, WFP staff in Sudan, and Headquarters. High‑quality visual products are essential for effective communication with WFP’s diverse audiences. To strengthen this effort, the Partnerships and Reporting Unit is seeking a Graphic Designer to support the development of clear, high‑quality, innovative, and visually compelling multimedia materials, including reports, infographics, presentations, and communication packages targeting donors, partners, government counterparts, and beneficiaries. The Graphic Designer will report directly to the Sudan team lead for Operational Information Management and will contribute to enhancing visual communication across all initiatives of the Sudan Country Office. ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design visually compelling communications products from concept through production for dissemination to key external stakeholders.

2. Design, develop and publish briefs, reports, newsletters, factsheets, infographics, maps, leaflets, fliers and donor presentations

3. Provide guidance on branding and design in line with WFP’s visual identity guidelines to other units across the CO

4. Support in the design of branded materials including, but not limited to – banners, posters, bag/box markings, flags, and office signage

5. Oversee the production, printing and dissemination of marketing materials

6. Conduct a thorough review of all branded materials being utilized by the Sudan CO to ensure allignment with WFP’s visual identity guidelines 7. Other support as required

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

-Successfully developed standardized templates for Sudan CO external productions such as: factsheets, infographics, briefs, situation reports. -Designed effective presentations for external meetings such as donor briefings.

-Conceptualized and designed a series of compelling maps to visually explain the operational environment.

-Created, produced and published a wide range of external communications products.

-Completed the review of all branded materials being used by Sudan CO (office signage, banners, bag markings, fleet, posters, flags, signposts, etc).

-Ensured that all marketing/branding materials are in line WFP’s visual identity guide

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education: University degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant education in the field with an additional certification in Graphic Design, or has demonstrable knowledge of graphic design and a high standard portfolio, showing creative solutions and attention to detail.

Experience: Three or Four years progressive experience in graphic design or relevant field. Has demonstrated a sound understanding of WFP communication techniques and activities and awareness of the sociopolitical context in which WFP operates through day-to-day work.

Knowledge & Skills: Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premier Pro), Canva, and Microsoft Office Quite Ability to translate complex operational details into simple and compelling visuals Excellent written and verbal communications ksills Ability to work with a high level of independence, as part of a large, dynamic, and diverse team and establish effective working relationships with persons of different national and cultural backgrounds.

Languages: Fluency in English is required
