JOB TITLE: CUSTOMER SERVICE OPERATIONS OFFICER –
TRANSIT OPERATIONS

About This Job:

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a
manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the
countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a
competent, skilled, and experienced Customer Service Operations Officer –
Transit Operations to work in Kenya.

Job Purpose

This position will be responsible for managing
transit shipments through the Port of Mombasa, with a primary focus on cargo
destined for Uganda, while also supporting movements into Rwanda, South Sudan,
and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Key Responsibilities

1. Transit Operations Management

·         Manage end-to-end customer
service for transit shipments through the Port of Mombasa.

·         Coordinate customs clearance,
transport planning, and cargo movement into Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and
the DRC.

·         Provide customers with timely
shipment updates and proactive communication.

2. Stakeholder Coordination

·         Liaise with transporters,
customs authorities, shipping lines, border agencies, and internal teams to
ensure smooth cargo movement.

·         Monitor shipment milestones and
resolve operational issues promptly to minimize delays.

3. Compliance & Documentation

·         Ensure compliance with transit
procedures, customs regulations, and company SOPs.

·         Maintain accurate operational
records and prepare customer reports where required.

4. Continuous Improvement

·         Support continuous improvement
initiatives aimed at enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.

5. Other Duties

·         Perform other related duties as
assigned.

Requirements

Education

·         Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in
Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Clearing & Forwarding, or a related
field.

Experience

·         Minimum of 3–5
years’ experience
 in freight forwarding/clearing and
forwarding operations.

·         Demonstrable experience managing transit cargo through Mombasa
into Uganda is essential.

·         Good understanding of transit
procedures for Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and the DRC.

·         Knowledge of Kenya Revenue
Authority (KRA), Kenya TradeNet, and regional transit documentation is an added
advantage.

Technical Skills

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office
applications.

·         Knowledge of customs clearance
and transit documentation processes.

·         Familiarity with regional
transit corridors.
