Description

This is a full-time, entry-level position dedicated to supporting the visual identity and digital presence of Nomad Africa Travel. Reporting to the Marketing Manager and working closely with the Marketing Associate, you will produce high-quality graphics and video content for social media and digital campaigns. A key part of this role is combining strong design fundamentals with emerging AI tools to innovate and accelerate content creation.

Africa is one of the most visually compelling destinations on the planet and this role exists to do it justice. You will be at the creative coalface, translating extraordinary destinations, lodges, and travel experiences into content that stops the scroll, builds brand affinity, and ultimately drives bookings. Every graphic, reel, and campaign asset you produce will represent Nomad Africa Travel to a global audience of discerning travellers.

This is not a passive production role. We are looking for someone with a genuine eye for aesthetics, a curiosity for what works on social media, and the drive to keep pushing the quality of our content forward. You will have real creative input, access to a rich library of stunning African imagery and footage, and the opportunity to help shape how one of Africa’s travel brands shows up online. Key responsibilities

Social media & digital graphic design

  • Design compelling, on-brand graphics for daily social media posts (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and beyond), email newsletters, and website banners.

  • Work closely with the Marketing Associate to bring the organic social media calendar to life, ensuring all visual assets align with messaging and publishing schedules.

  • Support the Marketing Manager by producing digital assets for paid media campaigns and new itinerary launches, optimising designs for conversion and engagement.

Video production & editing

  • Edit and format short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) using existing footage of destinations, lodges, and travel experiences.

  • Add text overlays, transitions, and basic motion graphics to capture audience attention in fast-moving social feeds.

  • Source trending or brand-appropriate audio and sync it effectively with video cuts to maximise reach.

AI-assisted design & innovation

  • Actively use AI generation and editing tools (Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, or specialised AI video tools) to brainstorm concepts, generate mockups, and speed up production.

  • Help integrate AI into everyday design workflows — from expanding image backgrounds to generating visual concepts for travel itineraries.

  • Stay current with the latest AI developments in design and marketing, bringing fresh ideas to the team.

Asset & brand management

  • Ensure all visual outputs adhere to Nomad Africa Travel brand guidelines, maintaining a premium and cohesive aesthetic across all channels.

  • Maintain and organize the internal library of raw and edited visual assets, keeping content easily accessible for the marketing and sales teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience — internships, freelance work, and strong portfolios are equally valued.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and/or agile alternatives such as Canva and CapCut.

  • Demonstrated interest in generative AI tools for visual content creation and prompt engineering.

  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, aspect ratios, current visual trends, and what drives engagement.

  • A strong collaborator who takes creative direction well and communicates clearly across a small, fast-moving team.

  • Highly adaptable — able to manage multiple projects and daily deadlines without dropping the detail.
