Main Purpose

Implement Health Promotion/IEC
(Information, Education, Communication) activities with patients and local
population to raise their knowledge and skills on relevant medical topics.
The project focuses on providing health services to at-risk and vulnerable
populations.

Accountabilities

·         Inform patients and
communities about MSF and services it provides

·         According to medical
priorities, deliver information to the patients and community on specific
health topics

·         Implement activities of
health education and awareness (sessions in schools, churches, community),
under the indications and supervision of the HP Supervisor

·         Under the guide of HP
Supervisor, assess the impact of activities (with questions, verifications
and behaviours observations), and report problems, success and constraints to
him/her

·         Collect all type of
information related to specific health and living conditions of the
population, in particular to identify the most vulnerable populations to
target

·         Report to HP Supervisor:
activities, problems met, strengths and constraints

·         Establish and maintain
contacts with social partners, including other NGO’s, governmental health
services that can provide answers to social problems

·         Keep education and
communication areas clean and tidy and professional materials available

·         Participate in creation of
any material needed for the activities of information, education and
communication.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

·         Facilitate
one-on.one and group education sessions and peer support groups for
beneficiaries in the clinic

·         Maintain
regular contact with peer referrers and participate in quarterly meetings

·         Help
beneficiaries navigate the clinic

·         Assure accurate data
gathering, compiling, and reporting during peer-led activities in the clinic

·         Participate in the
preparation of the monthly report and submit on time to the HP Manager

·         Participate in the
preparation of the monthly workplan in the clinic, making sure that plans proposed
are in line with need and gaps identified

·         Actively participate
in community mapping ,feedback and  collaboration in the clinic

·         Provide supportive
supervision to the peer referrers, utilising the approved tools and
guidelines for supervision

·         Facilitate qualitative
data collection methods in collaboration with peer referrers to identify the
needs, challenges, and knowledge gaps of key populations in the community

Education

•       Education level in social
science, social communication, nurse or teaching

•       An internal MSF training on
health messages is necessary

Experience

Preferable
previous experience in teaching, nursing or social work, community
mobilization, experience in working with Key and vulnerable populations

Languages                                        

Kiswahili
is essential, English is highly desirable

As this role involves service
delivery for key and vulnerable populations, experience working with key
population communities or lived experience within these communities will be
considered an asset, provided candidates meet the essential qualifications for
