The Sales Manager will lead and drive the company’s sales function by developing strategic growth plans, managing the sales team, and building lasting partnerships with schools, parents, and institutions. The role combines strategy, analytics, and hands-on field engagement to expand the Company’s market presence and ensure more Kenyan children access quality, hands-on technology education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Leadership
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s vision and revenue goals.
Set monthly and quarterly sales targets for the team and ensure consistent achievement.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to the sales team to strengthen performance and motivation.
Monitor sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to drive results.
2. Business Development & Outreach
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with schools, learning centers, and educational organizations.
Conduct high-level meetings and negotiations with key decision-makers.
Build partnerships with institutions and communities to expand program reach and impact.
Represent the company at educational forums, expos, and EdTech events in Nairobi and other regions.
3. Relationship Management
Nurture long-term relationships with school administrators, parents, and partners to secure repeat business.
Oversee account management for major clients and partnerships.
Ensure excellent customer experience through follow-ups, feedback collection, and problem resolution.
4. Reporting & Analysis
Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and sales activities using CRM tools.
Prepare performance reports, market insights, and forecasts for management.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer data to inform strategy and decision-making.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the marketing team to design campaigns that drive lead generation.
Coordinate with operations and training teams to ensure smooth implementation of signed contracts and program rollouts.
Provide input product and curriculum development based on client demands and market feedback.
Qualifications and Skills
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Education, or related field (MBA is an advantage).
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in sales, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably within the education, technology, or EdTech sectors.
Proven track record of achieving and surpassing sales targets.
Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision making.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and thrive in a startup/fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel within Kenya for client meetings and events.
