Department: Maintenance
Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor
Purpose of the position:
The Electro-Mechanical Technician will perform a variety of technical and skilled electrical and mechanic functions for the machines, equipment maintenance and building repair, including, but not limited to, light and heavy factory equipment.
The holder of this positin will also ensure that machines and equipment are available for use and consistently maintained in an optimal, safe and clean condition.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Install, calibrate, and maintain electro-mechanical systems, including motors, drives, sensors, and control units
• Quickly troubleshooting and diagnosing the root causes of electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic failures and carrying out targeted interventions.
• Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, system upgrades by identifying signs of wear, performing adjustments, and making necessary repairs to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
• Work with PLCs and control software to configure or reset automation systems
• Use measurement and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, calipers)
• Replace and align mechanical components such as belts, chains, sprockets, gears, and actuators
• Document repairs, maintenance logs, and component replacements
• Conducting tests and calibrations to ensure machines meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and technicians during installations or system integration
• Ensuring all interventions conform to current regulations to guarantee user safety compliance

Requirements

Skills and Education Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Diploma in Electromechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Electronics
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (FMCG, preferred)
• Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and mechanical assembly
• Familiarity with PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Delta), motor controllers, and sensors
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical schematics
• Skilled in using testing equipment and mechanical hand tools
• Basic welding ability on Stainless steel, Mild steel and cast iron
• Knowledge of safety procedures and basic electrical code compliance
