Description
MAIN PURPOSE
Plan, organize and supervise nursing
activities and the nursing team according to MSF values, policies, protocols
and universal health standards, ensuring quality and continuity of patient care
and contributing to the achievement of project objectives.
Clinical and Nursing Supervision
- Supervise clinical activities and ensure the
quality of nursing care delivered within the health post. - Support and participate in nursing activities
whenever required to optimize patient care and service delivery. - Ensure correct patient identification, referral
and linkage to relevant services. - Monitor implementation of medical prescriptions
and ensure accurate completion of patient files and registers. - Supervise medication administration, wound care,
infection prevention practices and patient follow-up. - Support technical case management and promptly
inform the Medical Activity Manager of emergency cases requiring urgent
intervention.
Team
Management
- Organize and coordinate staff schedules, annual
leave plans and daily duty allocations. - Supervise, coach and evaluate nursing and
auxiliary nursing staff. - Identify training needs and support staff
development. - Set objectives for nurses and auxiliary nurses
in line with their job descriptions. - Promote teamwork and support resolution of
interpersonal conflicts within the team.
· Pharmacy
and Medical Equipment Management
- Supervise departmental pharmacy management,
including stock monitoring, ordering, storage conditions and expiry tracking. - Ensure efficient management of drugs, medical
supplies and consumables. - Ensure resuscitation equipment and emergency
trays remain complete, accessible and up to date. - Ensure medical and biomedical equipment are
available, functional, properly maintained and safely stored. - Serve as custodian of departmental equipment,
pharmacy keys, confidential files and relevant documentation.
Reporting
and Administration
- Ensure accurate completion of patient records,
registers and reporting tools. - Participate in compilation and analysis of
health post reports and statistics. - Provide regular reports and feedback to the
Medical Activity Manager. - Participate in meetings, forums and project
activities as required.
Infection
Prevention and Community Health
- Ensure Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)
standards are always respected. - Monitor hand hygiene compliance, waste
segregation and environmental cleanliness. - Coordinate health education activities and
ensure key health messages are delivered to patients and community members. - Facilitate referrals to Mental Health, TB/HIV,
Nutrition, ANC and EPI services as required.

- Perform any other duties assigned by the direct
supervisor in support of MSF activities.
Requirements
