Description

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized Procurement Agent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the procurement function by sourcing goods and services, coordinating supplier engagements, processing purchase requests, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures, and facilitating timely delivery of operational requirements.

The role requires excellent negotiation skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of integrity and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and process procurement requests from various departments.
  • Source quotations from suppliers and conduct price comparisons to obtain the best value for the Company.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure all required approvals are obtained before procurement.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Follow up on outstanding orders and resolve delivery-related issues.
  • Maintain and update procurement records, supplier databases, and procurement trackers.
  • Verify supplier invoices and supporting documentation before forwarding them for payment processing.
  • Support supplier evaluation and performance monitoring activities.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist in negotiating favorable pricing, payment terms, and service agreements with suppliers.
  • Participate in periodic stock counts and procurement audits.
  • Prepare procurement reports and provide updates on pending procurement activities.
  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time in support of operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Membership with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) will be an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory management, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using ERP or procurement systems will be an added advantage.
