Our client is a leading vertically integrated textile solutions provider serving Sub-Saharan Africa through its trusted brands. They are looking for a highly analytical and results-oriented Production Planning Coordinator to strengthen our planning function and support operational excellence.

Production Planning Coordinator

Location: Ruiru, Kenya

Role Purpose

The Production Planning Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and strengthening production and inventory planning processes by translating customer demand, manufacturing capacity, and material requirements into integrated and executable plans. The role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient operations, reliable customer delivery, inventory optimization, and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning

  • Develop and maintain integrated production plans aligned with customer demand and business priorities.
  • Coordinate production scheduling and sequencing to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Ensure planning decisions are based on accurate, timely, and reliable information.

Capacity Planning & Optimization

  • Monitor and optimize manufacturing capacity utilization.
  • Identify production constraints and bottlenecks proactively.
  • Recommend capacity improvement initiatives to support business growth and expansion.
  • Minimize production disruptions resulting from capacity limitations.

Inventory & Material Planning

  • Coordinate material planning to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to support timely replenishment planning.
  • Drive inventory optimization initiatives to reduce shortages and excess stock.
  • Ensure material availability across all production requirements.

Risk Management & Performance Monitoring

  • Identify, assess, and escalate planning risks before they impact business performance.
  • Monitor performance against production plans and investigate variances.
  • Provide leadership with meaningful planning insights, recommendations, and performance reports.
  • Coordinate corrective actions to address planning challenges and operational risks.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in:

  • Supply Chain Management
  • Business Management
  • Statistics
  • Or a related field

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in production planning, inventory planning, supply chain management, manufacturing operations, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing capacity planning and cross-functional team coordination.
  • Practical experience working with ERP/SAP systems and planning tools.

Preferred

  • Experience within textile manufacturing or similar integrated manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to inventory optimization, resource planning, and capacity optimization methodologies.
  • Understanding of environments where cost control, inventory effectiveness, and customer experience are critical business drivers.
