JOB TITLE: FORKLIFT OPERATOR

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Forklift Operator to work in Nairobi, Kenya.

Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to support inbound, outbound, and production material movements. This role ensures all equipment is inspected and maintained, shipments are accurate and damage-free, and materials are transferred in strict coordination with supervisors and production teams to meet site safety and quality requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Carry out pre-use inspections of forklifts and duly update the forklift maintenance and inspection record.
·         Operate forklifts as per site safety protocols and assigned operational requirements.
·         Ensure forklifts are kept clean and free from oil leaks at all times.
·         Verify that inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage; report any damage immediately.
·         Actively communicate with supervisors and operators to effectively handle materials during transfer.
·         Load and unload products and materials within designated areas, including production lines and warehouses, as assigned.
·         Move the correct materials to the production team as guided by the Production Supervisor/Manager.

Requirements

Qualifications

·         Diploma in Plant Operation or a higher qualification.

·        

Experience

·         Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a forklift operator in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment.

Skills

·         Strong understanding of forklift maintenance and pre-use inspection procedures.
·         Excellent attention to detail for shipment accuracy and damage detection.
·         Ability to remain calm and follow safety procedures under pressure.
·         Good communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, production teams, and operators.
·         Proven ability to multitask and prioritize material movements to meet production targets.
·         Basic problem-solving skills to identify equipment or material issues early.
